13 September 2021

CAN is proud to announce that its innovative design has been selected by Vanke Group amongst several international design firms as the winner of a competition for Foshan Vanke Retail Mall. The firm is delivering the architectural design and retail planning for the project.

Located in the strategic node of Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster in Foshan (hereinafter referred to as “Salong Bay”), adjacent to Guangzhou South Railway Station and above the Meiqi Station (under construction) of Foshan Metro Line 3, the project sits on a booming site with convenient transit linkages. As an above-station mixed-use development, it consists of integrated office towers, a high-end hotel, and a shopping mall, making it an organic “three-dimensional micro-city” in the district.

The 80,000 sqm shopping mall is the heart of the scheme, with four storeys above ground and two underground retail levels. The B2 level is connected to the platform of the metro station and the underground shopping street. The project is one of the first TOD developments in Foshan, which is a key construction of the local government. Joining the Vanke portfolio, this mixed-use development would not only be a future benchmark for an integrated community hub but a distinct urban destination.

The “Corridor’ can be defined as linear natural infrastructure that links up other green spaces to form a green urban network. The 24-hour green corridor runs north-south, linking two gathering points and three thematic curves to the MRT station and adjacent sites.

“Courts” utilizes the north-south nodes to create an all-weather winter garden, indoor green plaza, and outdoor international food and cultural village to the south, to enhance the interactive experience between visitors and the environment. “Chambers’ consists of 3 themed zones linked by two north-south nodes, offering interactive commercial experiences by energizing the area with F&B, leisure, and social hub.
