Redefining New Trends of Urban Living in Incheon

This commercial design competition offers an integrated urban regeneration scheme redefining new trends of urban living in Incheon. With a transit-oriented approach, the design explores the future of commerce and urban living through revitalising Incheon Bus Terminal Complex and Shinsegae Department Store. The design proposes a brand-new experiential commercial hub and public spaces for seamless transportation links.

The design draws inspiration from Incheon as a port city and the entertainment experience offered on cruise ships, introducing a shuttle escalator tunnel, botanic garden, and e-sports hub to assemble a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. The design transforms the traditional experience in retail and provides a new commercial and lifestyle offering in Incheon. Multi-level circulation paths with the TOD strategy capture the pedestrian flow from adjacent sites and the neighbourhoods. The design is set to become an urban living destination that integrates commerce, culture, and leisure.
