CAN is proud to announce that the firm has been selected to deliver the interior and signage design for the international airport terminal renovation project. The project aims to transform an aging airport into a destination that reflects local uniqueness.<\/p>\n

\nAs the third-busiest airport nationwide, thanks to its unique location and well-defined transportation system by land, sea and air, the airport has a network to Southeast Asia, Europe, America, and Australia, and major cities on the mainland.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The airport is expected to handle 120 million passengers by 2030, including 42 million passengers per annum at Terminal 1. To cope with the huge demand and redefine the future travel experience, the project aims to bring a fully automated and unmanned travel experience for passengers. Besides enhancing various aspects of airport operations, the optimisation will transform the aviation hub into a truly inspiring lifestyle destination, providing passengers a sparkling mix of spaces to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n

To increase operational efficiency and to incorporate green features, in addition to the remodeling of Terminal 1, enhancements are provided to the existing facilities. To optimise operations and enhance services, the scope of the project also includes re-planning passenger facilities and commercial offerings.<\/p>\n\n

To tackle passenger profile change and their changing needs, the proposal is based on value-added services, smart airport initiatives, going green and the enhancement of retail and dining atmosphere. From the shopping outlets at the Departure Hall and the connecting bridge to the newly added leisure facilities throughout Terminal 1, the interior design uses flowers as an inspiration, matching the reputation as the City of Flowers and amplify local culture. Characterized by elegant lines and earth tones texture, the interior space conjures a cozy ambiance that reflects the city’s culture and spirit; more importantly, the design aligns with CAAC\u2019s Four Characteristics Airport Development Guidelines, with a concept of a \u201csafe, green, smart, and people-oriented\u201d. The design aims to re-establish the airport as a world-class international airport hub and an incredible new landmark.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A simple yet distinctive design is adopted around Terminal 1, the main axis of the departure lobby is characterised by a unique roof canopy. The interior colonnades create a contemporary design language, and they are presented with elegant lines and in sculptural form. An embedded signage system allows visitors to easily navigate Terminal 1 and experience everything that is on offer.<\/p>\n\n

Airports no longer function as transitional spaces. CAN\u2019s design transforms Terminal 1 into an iconic lifestyle destination. An airport hub for leisure, entertainment, shopping, commerce, and dining experience that echoes the colourful urban landscape, making visitors\u2019 waiting time more enjoyable and exciting. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
